Summary:
The purpose of this Type 19 Flood Insurance Study is to investigate the existence and severity of flood hazards in the City of Sanibel, Lee County, Florida, and to aid the administration of the Flood Insurance Act of 1968 and the Flood Disaster Prevention Act of 1973. Initial use of this information will be to revise the Flood Insurance Rate Map developed from data presented in the Type 15 Flood Insurance Study. Further use of the information will be made by local and regional planners in their efforts to promote sound land use and flood plain management.
