The authors analyze historical data and the results of censuses (conducted over three years) to determine the geographic distribution of waterfowl wintering in the southern and southwestern coastal areas of Florida-- much of the study site was in Everglades National Park. The authors discuss the origin of the wintering population, waterfowl population levels, seasonality, regional distribution and the role of the Everglades estuaries to these waterfowl. Census data is presented in tables. A map illustrates survey areas.
