About PALMM

Publication of Archival, Library, & Museum Materials (PALMM) is a cooperative initiative of the public universities and colleges of Florida to provide digital access to important source materials for research and scholarship. PALMM collections may involve a single Florida university/college or may be collaborative efforts between Florida universities, colleges, and partners. A PALMM collection must involve at least one Florida public post-secondary instution and agree to follow guidelines for the quality of digital content and website design. The Digital Initiatives Standing Committee (DISC) is the system-wide group most closely involved with general PALMM issues and will approve collection for inclusion within PALMM. PALMM projects create high-quality virtual collections relevant to the students, research community and general citizenry of Florida.

Most PALMM collections are hosted by the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative (FALSC) FL-Islandora platform. PALMM collections can also be hosted by individual libraries.

• Use the Advanced Search feature to expand your search to include the full text of documents, or to limit your search to specific fields.
• Wrap your query in quotation marks to limit your search to results containing the exact phrase in the prescribed order.
• Use AND between terms to find records with all the terms.
• Use OR between terms to find records with any of the terms.
• Use the SORT and NARROW By features available in search results to refine your search. Use + to limit your results to items only matching those terms. Use - to eliminate items from your results matching those terms.
• Click hotlinked terms in the Full Description of an item to find similar items.
• Speak to a librarian for further assistance.
