- Date Issued:
- 1991
- Abstract/Description:
- The herons, egrets, ibises, spoonbills, and storks that reside in Florida' s wetlands are part of our wildlife resource. Although statewide numbers of wading birds have never been accurately measured, the size of the total population is known to have fluctuated greatly. This publication describes two main goals of the Strategic Plan for Florida's Wildlife and Freshwater Fish: to mantain the county distribution of colonial wading birds as described in Florida Atlas of Breeding Sites for Herons and their Allies and to develop and implement a monitoring progress (i.e., index) to stablish population and distribution objectives for colonial wading birds by 1992-93.
