This is based on the fact that Ruth Boomer Thomas, daughter of Berthaldine and sister of Bertie, married a Philadelphia architect. There are other photos showing scenes in and around Philadephia that were obviously taken at the same time. In this photo, Imogene, Ruth and Annie Ray are easily identified, however, the man in the back only "appears" to be Claude Rahn. This is based on photo 1-014 which clearly shows Claude and was taken at the same location as this photo. It may also be Dudley Andrews, brother of Allen and Annie Ray. The dating of this photograph is based on the following: Ruth Boomer was born in 1888. In 1900 she was living in Chicago (census). In 1934 (according to the "Community Current Events") Ruth lived in Philadelphia, was married and already had her only known child, Benjamin Brooks Thomas. Ruth is listed in the 1920 census in Philadelphia. Community Current Events (CCE) - Jan 1933 mentions Ruth and "young son" Benjamin Brooks Thomas - when was he born [10/17/02] -- The 1920 US Census shows Ruth Boomer married to Walter H. Thomas.
