Summary:
This report provides a detailed description of the ground-water hydrology and hydrochemistry of the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). It covers the Southern Region of the District, including Charlotte, DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. The report is the result of an extensive ground-water quality sampling, data analysis, and interpretation effort by the Ambient Ground-Water Quality Monitoring Program at the SWFWMD. It includes information on stratigraphy, structure, hydrostratigraphy, potentiometric surface, aquifer recharge, aquifer use, and ground-water quality. The ground-water quality chapter includes regional maps of the concentrations for 26 of the chemical parameters obtained from ground-water samples.
