A view of the Nutt family homestead, shortly after it was moved a few hundred feet on the property and restored. The house, called The Gables, or later Gray Gables, was built by the Nutt family in 1889 when Mrs. Letizia Nutt, her three daughters, mother-in-law, and brother, came to Sanibel to homestead. The three daughters were Nannie, Cordie, and Lettie.
