Date Issued:
1995
Summary:
Report of a study examining the factors contributing to water column light attenuation conducted at the deep edges of seven seagrass beds in Sarasota Bay. Results and discussion include water quality parameters, in situ diffuse attenuation coefficients, adjusted attenuation coefficients, laboratory attenuation coefficients, regression models of attenuation, partitioning of attenuation, special absorption and photosynthetic reusable radiation, epiphytic attenuation, light available to the seagrasses, and depth limits of seagrasses. Graphs and tables of data are included. A bibliography is attached.
