Ground water Investigations in Florida
- Date Issued:
- 1933
- Summary:
- This report briefly describes the cooperative investigations carried on in Manatee, Pinellas, Orange, Seminole and Duval counties in 1930 and 1931. Information was obtained in regard to wells, the water-bearing formations, the quality of water, and the general geologic conditions that govern the occurrence of the ground water. Measurements were made periodically on numerous observation wells. Automatic water-stage recorders, which give continuous records of the fluctuations of the water levels, were installed on two non-flowing wells, and recording pressure gauges were installed on three flowing wells that were shut down and not in use. Altitudes of some of the observation wells were determined, so that the height of water in them with reference to sea level may be accurately determined.
