Summary:
This report describes an area of about 2,000 square miles in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. The U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Florida Geological Survey made a reconnaissance to determine the extent and cause of the decline in artesian pressures, and to determine if this decline has resulted in salt-water intrusion in northeast Florida. This report presents and interprets the information collected during the reconnaissance made in January to March 1960.
