Methods of Estimating Recharge to the Floridan Aquifer in Northeast Florida

Download pdf | Full Screen View

Date Issued:
1978
Summary:
Recharge to the principal artesian aquifer was estimated in an area including Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, and Union counties in Florida. Recharge was estimated by three methods: closed contour flow calculations, water budgets, and formulas for computing leakage through confining beds. Each estimate was then used as a boundary condition in the computer model to determine which estimate, if any, could be used to simulate accurately the recharge rate at the western boundary.
