Date Issued:
1983
Summary:
The objective of this investigation was to define the hydrogeologic framework of the surficial, intermediate, and Floridan aquifers in the Sarasota-Port Charlotte area, including their regional extent, thickness, hydraulic properties, water quality, and their interrelation in the regional ground-water flow system. Geologic, geophysical, water-level, and water-quality data were collected and interpreted to define the hydrogeologic framework of the surficial and intermediate aquifers. The report presents the thickness, structure, water quality and water levels of the four aquifers mapped. The results of aquifer tests and the probable range of aquifer characteristics of the aquifers are reported. A water budget for the study area was verified using a digital ground-water flow simulation model.
