"This report presents the results of geologic and soils studies made in connection with the planning for construction of works within the area of investigation. Geologic data have been obtained from core borings and probings along canal and levee alignments in the coastal areas south of St. Lucie Canal and at structure sites in that area. Soil types and distribution have been determined from field investigations and laboratory-tested samples. Results of similar investigations for the other areas under consideration have been or will be presented in supplements to other parts of the definite project report"--P. 1.
