Summary:
This action consists of the construction of the major wastewater management facilities for the South District of Dade County, Florida which includes the communities of Florida City and Homestead as well as unincorporated areas. Essential features of the overall project are: (1) a sewage transmission system intercepting flows from the nine sewage systems in south Dade; (2) a single 50 mgd regional secondary treatment plant which will replace the nine smaller plants; and (3) a deep well disposal system for the treated and disinfected effluent.
