Summary:
A regional landscape simulation model addressing the effects of different management and climate scenarios on the ecosystems in the Everglades was developed as part of the integrated Everglades Research Plan of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The initial development of the ELM was to take 2.5 years, and is referred to as Phase I.

Summary: A regional landscape simulation model addressing the effects of different management and climate scenarios on the ecosystems in the Everglades was developed as part of the integrated Everglades Research Plan of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The initial development of the ELM was to take 2.5 years, and is referred to as Phase I.
Summary: The work product of Phase I will be a dynamic spatial simulation model of the Everglades and closely associated ecosystems. At this stage the model will be a calibrated, verified tool to use in management scenario analysis. Phase I is divided into three major tasks. This report presents a summary of Task I accomplishments, and a discussion of many components of the work that will be done in Tasks 2 and 3.
