The potential implications that increased anthropogenic-nutrient inputs may have on primary productivity within specific hydrologically defined areas of the harbor are also examined.

Birds disperse the seeds, and contribute to a rapidly expanding wild population that includes isolated islands. As of 1996, carrotwood has invaded a wide variety of habitats in 14 southern and central Florida counties. Wild carrotwood has become reproductive in three counties. Presence of carrotwood is involved in alteration of the natural species diversity of mangrove and coastal hammock communities. The invasibility of carrotwood has been compared to Brazilian pepper (Schinus terebinthifolius). The distribution of wild carrotwood also coincides with that of all three mangrove tree species.

Flood-peak discharges, water-surface elevations and flood profiles are also provided for diked conditions.
